Description: Living-legend Everett Lilly is one of the forefathers of bluegrass music. A former
Grand Ole Opry star performing with Flatt & Scruggs, he made his mark on music
history performing with his brother “B” as The Lilly Brothers. The Lilly Brothers
were one of the first bluegrass bands ever to tour Japan in the 1970's and are still
revered there today. Credited with introducing bluegrass music to the northeastern
US, The Lilly Brothers were inducted into the Massachusetts Country Music Hall of
Fame in 1986. They were honored by the International Bluegrass Music Association
(IBMA) as inductees in 2002 in their Hall of Honor (Fame). Everett Lilly and The
Lilly Mountaineers were recipients of the 2008 IBMA Recorded Event of the Year
award. Mr. Lilly was inducted into the WV Music Hall of Fame in 2008 and received
