Description:
Who is Jackie Kincaid Jackie Lee Kincaid is a member of the “Cumberland Highlanders TV Show”, which is seen all over the world. He also performs on the road playing mandolin and singing tenor with Larry Sparks. Hailing from Meadowbridge, West Virginia, Jackie is an IBMA member and has played the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Bluegrass Show, Prairie Home Companion Radio Show, the Wheeling Jamboree, Bean Blossom, and countless other known venues. Jackie has played mandolin, singing harmony vocals with the great Mac Wiseman, Larry Sparks (2 times IBMA Male Vocalist of the year, 2004 & 2005), Wayne Lewis (Monroe’s lead singer for 11 years), Tom Ewing (Monroe’s lead singer for 9 years), Burkett "Uncle Josh" Graves (the father of Bluegrass dobro with the Foggy Mountain Boys), James Monroe (Bill Monroe’s son) and Clarence Kelly & New Cut Road just to name a few. Larry Sparks has also recorded some songs written by Jackie. Mr. Kincaid has given opening performances for acts like Johnny Cash, Dr. Ralph Stanley, Bobby Bare, Ronnie Milsap, John Conley, Sonny James, and more. He has played with some of the best pickers around in Bluegrass, such as Vick Jordon, Butch Robins, Bobby Hicks, Tater Tate, Billy Rose, Jimmy Campbell, Kenny Baker, Fred Duggin of the New Tradition, and the list goes on. While singing “Rose of Ole Kentucky” at Bill Monroe’s Bean Blossom festival, Bill came out and sat down on the front row and watched Jackie sing. Afterwards Bill told Wayne Lewis, “You'd better keep that boy he’s a mighty powerful Bluegrass singer”. There’s no doubt that Jackie Kincaid has been recognized for his singing and writing talent by some of the biggest names in Bluegrass.
